Biography
Mannie Blier wrote from actual confinement at Welfare Island, New York, in a letter printed under the headline Political Prisoner Gives His Smokes to Daily Drive. His printed prisoner number is 60146. He sent twelve two-cent stamps, describing the contribution as his weekly tobacco allowance, and said several other comrades were imprisoned there with him. His expectation of joining the struggle outside again soon is not proof of completed release. The source does not identify his offense, admission date or complete sentence.
