Biography

Lydia Gropper was a New York fur striker and mother of three. The June 15, 1933 Daily Worker reports that she was being held until June 17 for investigation after a strike-related prosecution. The paper recalls an earlier strike frame-up and describes the union’s defense campaign. This establishes reported ongoing detention, without an exact admission, physical release or complete custody total. The proposed June 17 endpoint is not entered as an accomplished release.
