Biography

Louis Severa, also printed as Luka Sovera, was arrested while attending a Communist meeting in Detroit, according to the 1920 congressional case summary. He said he had joined the Socialist Party eight months before the hearing, and officials introduced a membership card with dues paid through December 1919. Eight months describes membership, not custody. Officials recommended deportation, but the warrant was canceled April 1. Exact arrest, physical release and complete actual detention duration remain unknown.
