Leo Schiff was a draft-registration resister and natural-foods chef from Vermont. No further detailed biography beyond his Plowshares participation was sourced.
Separate Trident II custody episodes
Nuclear Resister 27, December 3, 1984, printed front page, names Leo Schiff among five participants in the October 1 action and records their October 24 recognizance release. The October 24, 1985 issue, printed page 3, dates the one-year sentence October 18 and lists Schiff at Rhode Island ACI. This supports October admission, bounded October 18–24, but not an exact entry day. The September 18, 1986 issue, printed page 7, reports Schiff, Bill Boston and John Pendleton released August 23. The separate records avoid counting time at liberty between pretrial release and sentence custody. No independently identified, rights-cleared portrait is established.
Actual initial release, unresolved final discharge
Complete relevant original pages in NR027 and NR035 were visually reviewed. Princeton's own archives explicitly identify a 1983 Nassau Herald portrait and bridge the same Trident activist. Image retrieval failed; reuse rights remain unverified, so no new photo asset is installed. Unrelated banker portraits are excluded.

Contemporary 1986 custody evidence
The Trident II Plowshares update explicitly reports Bill Boston (William Boston), John Pendleton and Leo Schiff in the release group that physically left Rhode Island prison August 23, 1986. This confirms the endpoint of the existing October 1985 sentence stay, not the separate October 1984 pretrial detention. Admission remains month precision; no exact total is computed from it. Frank Panopoulos’s October 17 date in the next clause was still a forecast and is not assigned to this release group.

The USS Alabama report individually names Leo Schiff and Katya Komisaruk as arrested May 25, 1985 and held on $10,000 bond until Tuesday May 28, when bond was lowered and actually posted by supporters. This confirms three elapsed days before physical discharge and is separate from later Connecticut actions.
