Biography

Larry Henson was a Black Panther Party member arrested outside Oakland’s Lamp Post Bar and Restaurant on December 21, 1974. Party members had confronted Leonard Jenkins after seeing him attempt to break into the restaurant’s storehouse, but responding police arrested the Panthers instead and accused them of assault, robbery and carrying concealed weapons. Bail for Larry Henson was set at $10,000. Oakland Municipal Court dismissed every charge in January 1975 after Jenkins, the prosecution’s only witness, failed to appear. The available reports do not give an exact release date.
