Biography
Kinai Ikuma was a Shinto priest at Hawaii Daijingu in Honolulu. JCCH records his birth year as 1872 and arrest in December 1941. His individual record documents confinement at the Honolulu Immigration Station and Sand Island, mainland transfer in May 1942, Angel Island and Fort Sam Houston in June 1942, Lordsburg June 1942-March 1943 and Santa Fe March 1943-October 1945. He returned to Honolulu aboard Shawnee in December 1945. His detention occurred within US wartime incarceration of people of Japanese ancestry; the archive establishes no individual criminal conviction.
