Biography

Keith H. Washington, known as Malik Washington, was an incarcerated spokesperson for the End Prison Slavery in Texas movement. The July–August 2018 newsletter, public prisoner number 1487958, reports he had spent approximately two years in administrative segregation, alleging retaliation for strike organizing and protest of conditions. It says he reached Ramsey Unit June 21, 2018 for transition to general population, then was returned to segregation at McConnell after a dispute over a pork-processing job, religious objections and health restrictions. A claimed refusal to join the transition program was disputed by supporters. These are attributed reports of political reprisals within existing imprisonment; the original charge and complete custody endpoints are unknown.
