Karson, identified only by surname as the Communist Party section organizer, was arrested during the Ely protest alongside YCL organizer Arvo Halberg. Company police chief Cloutier reportedly tried to use a blackjack. The report says six were arrested and only Wiitala released, leaving Karson held at the account’s close.
