Biography

Dominican revolutionary and supporter of Puerto Rican independence, also known as Julio Veras Delgadillo and Jorge Albizu Orta. A firsthand 2019 interview reports his 1981 arrest in Puerto Rico, a 25-year sentence, and 1989 parole release followed by deportation to the Dominican Republic. Contemporary supporters identified a bank-robbery conviction and disputed the prosecution. The federal register identifies June 29, 1989 as his actual federal release date under the documented alias John Doe. Arrest remains known only to 1981; exact admission and subsequent immigration-custody or deportation dates remain unverified.

Identity, partial dates and identified photograph

Historian José (Che) Paraliticci's firsthand interview identifies Veras Delgadillo as Dominican and links the aliases Jorge Luis Albizu Orta and John Doe to his imprisonment. It dates arrest to 1981 and parole release to 1989. Arrest retains YEAR precision; its January 1 placeholder is not an actual day. The federal release date has since been refined through the register-linked evidence below. No prison-admission date or exact day count is derived. Claridad interview, June 19, 2019.

The interview's captioned photograph identifies the man beside the Pedro Mir bust as Julio Veras Delgadillo. The complete 640×480 photograph is reproduced unaltered, credited to Claridad under its stated CC BY-NC 3.0 Puerto Rico license. Photographer and capture date are not supplied; it is not a prison or 1980s photograph.

The contemporary support petition independently identifies his Dominican citizenship and a bank-robbery conviction in the independence-movement context. Its allegation of a frame-up is attributed to supporters, not adopted as a judicial finding. Its Petersburg state designation appears erroneous; no location or transfer day is inferred from that wording. Original support petition, physical page 7.

Register-linked federal release

The original Winter 1987 Breakthrough, printed page 43 (physical PDF page 45), lists Julio Veras y Degadillo as 00799-069-E-3. The Bureau of Prisons inmate locator, queried by register 00799-069, returns John Doe and an actual federal release date of June 29, 1989. The independently documented John Doe alias and interview release year corroborate the match. A separate name-only Julio Veras result (43731-054, released in 2004) is not used.

This refines the federal release field to day precision, without claiming that all subsequent immigration detention ended that day. Exact prison admission remains unknown, so no exact-day counter is calculated.
