Biography

Julie Winters was arrested during a June 24, 2025 protest at the South Portland ICE office after federal officers alleged that she brandished and threw a knife. After violating pretrial-release conditions, she was arrested again on August 20, pleaded guilty to intimidating a federal officer and resisting arrest, and was released after receiving a time-served sentence on December 19, 2025.

Source verification

The June 26, 2025 District of Oregon announcement describes Winters's June 24 arrest and states that she remained detained after the June 26 first appearance. This establishes an earlier pretrial detention episode, separate from the later August 20 return to custody. The initial discharge date is not supplied; the recorded August–December interval must not be extended backward as though confinement were uninterrupted. The notice identifies her as 46, consistent with a 1978 or 1979 birth year, not an exact birth date. The initial attempted-assault allegation and statutory maximum are not a verdict or an imposed sentence.

Original evidence of the earlier holding-cell detention

The June 25, 2025 criminal complaint and attached affidavit in United States v. Julie Winters, case 3:25-cr-00284-AB, document 7, describe her physical restraint and placement in a holding cell after the late-night June 24 incident. This confirms an initial detention phase before the separately recorded August 20 return to custody, not uninterrupted detention through December. The complaint does not independently timestamp the later holding-cell admission, give the first release date, or establish a completed duration. June 25 is the filing and oath date, not a substitute booking day. Attempted assault of a federal officer is the complaint allegation, not a conviction; the affidavit also records Winters denying wrongdoing. A captioned arrest photograph identifies Winters on original PDF page 8 and corroborates the source of the already installed portrait. No birth date, final disposition or sentence is established by this complaint.

Original criminal complaint, filed June 25, 2025, PDF page 1; affidavit paragraph 7, physical holding-cell custody, PDF page 5; captioned arrest photograph, PDF page 8; denial and probable-cause request, PDF page 9.
