Biography
Joseph Weidon was a organizer of the Progressive Workers Club Unemployment Committee, individually named among eight workers arrested when police expelled their delegation from a Williamsburg relief station. The Daily Worker of December 8, 1934, page 2, reports that Magistrate Dwyer refused to continue the trial after International Labor Defense lawyer Harry Alexander protested police intimidation of the defense. A Bridge Plaza Court hearing was announced for the following Monday at 9 a.m. The report does not establish an individual statutory charge, conviction, sentence, exact arrest or release date. The name is transcribed from the original scan. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n293-Nat-dec-08-DW-LOC.pdf
