Biography
Jonathan Odell was an Anglican clergyman and Loyalist writer. Revolutionary authorities restricted his movements in July 1776. Pursued by troops, he fled to British-held New York on December 18, 1776, leaving his family behind. This is a record of forced flight and exile, not an established jail term. He later served British military and intelligence interests and settled in New Brunswick.
