Biography

John Bunyk was arrested in the Grand Rapids Communist Party investigation described across printed pages 54-55 of the 1920 congressional case summary. His testimony places him in the party hall on the night of the arrest and describes the local Socialist organization taking a Communist Party charter on October 17, 1919. Officials recommended deportation, but the warrant was canceled March 29. The charter date is not an arrest date; no exact physical discharge or complete detention duration is established.
