Biography
Joe Rogers, a Daily Worker seller on New York’s Lexington Avenue subway, was arrested by two company policemen after refusing to stop selling the newspaper. The July 17 issue reports Judge McKee denying dismissal and a jury trial, and Rogers requesting a continuance for counsel and parole in his own custody. It announces trial that morning but gives no completed outcome or proof that his parole request was granted. Arrest and physical discharge days and completed duration are unestablished; he is not merged with other Rogers prisoners. Daily Worker, July 17, 1934, page 1.
