Page 1 of the July 16, 1932 Daily Worker reports a detective took Miller shoe striker Jimmy Vardy from strike headquarters after a strikebreaker identified him. At the company office an assault accusation was attempted; the article says Vardy resisted intimidation and was released. This supplies an actual strike-related detention and release, but no exact arrest day, judicial sentence or complete custody duration.
