Biography
Jeff Leys was arrested for trespass at Project ELF, the U.S. Navy's extremely-low-frequency submarine command system. Trespass at Project ELF; jailed after refusing community service. Sentenced to 60 days.
Separate 1985 Project ELF imprisonment
Jeff Leys was sentenced October 29, 1985 for criminal damage to an ELF antenna support pole on August 14. His three-year prison term was stayed; he also received three years probation and five months in Sawyer County Jail. The current-prisoner directory and named jail mailing address verify actual imprisonment, but do not expressly state first admission or final release. The January 11 directory endpoint was a future forecast, not an actual release. No five-month completed total is entered. This is distinct from the stored 2002 ELF case.

Later evidence of custody in the 1985 ELF prosecution
The December 1986 directory explicitly identifies Jeff Leys as presently imprisoned in connection with the August 1985 Project ELF disarmament matter following probation revocation. This updates the earlier 1985 prosecution already documented separately from the 2002 ELF case. This issue does not establish a release and re-entry between the 1985 Sawyer County jail term and the later probation-revocation custody, so no second interval or additional served-day count is added from this listing. The directory’s August 1987 projected release is not a confirmed discharge, and the action’s August 1985 date is not an admission date. Actual custody endpoints and completed duration remain unknown.

Individually documented 1985–1986 custody chronology
The January 20, 1986 original explicitly reports Judge Alvin Kelsey ordered Jeff Leys physically released on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1985. It says Leys had been jailed since his August 14, 1985 ELF-antenna support-pole action. This confirms the actual August 14–December 24 detention, 132 elapsed days, ending about two and one-half weeks before the previously forecast January 11 endpoint. His separately established October 29 sentencing remains unchanged. Five imposed months are not substituted for this source-confirmed interval, and the unrelated 2002 case remains untouched.

The Honeywell report individually names Jeff Leys as actually jailed pending a May 7 trial following the April 27, 1984 anti-nuclear blockade, after refusing bail. This is distinct from his later ELF cases. It does not separately print first jail entry or an actual release; a trial date does not prove discharge.
The chronology reports twenty-two months eventually spent in state prison following Leys’s 1985 ELF prosecution. It does not allocate this total between initial detention and later revocation custody.
