Biography

James J. Trott was a Methodist itinerant missionary in the Cherokee Nation who was arrested at least three times by the Georgia Guard during 1831. Convicted on September 15, 1831 for residing in the Nation without a Georgia license, he was among the nine defendants who accepted clemency and was discharged about September 22, 1831.
