Biography
Jack Rosen was one of four Communist election speakers arrested at Bleecker and McDougal streets in New York on Saturday night September 27,1930. Police had pushed a speaker from the platform and dispersed the meeting, then arrested the speakers after it resumed. At the station a sergeant admitted their right to speak at that corner; all four returned to the meeting. Defacio was identified as a congressional candidate and spoke in Italian against Mussolini. The report supplies no exact detention hours or formal charge. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n234-NY-sep-29-1930-DW-LOC.pdf#page=1
