Biography

Jack Goldburg was charged with assaulting a policeman on a May’s Department Store picket line on Washington’s Birthday, February 22, 1936. The May 12 report names Joe Casta, Jack Goldburg and Pat O’Shea and says the assault cases were to be heard that day in Special Sessions. It establishes a strike-related prosecution, without a precise personal arrest day, jail intake or final outcome. Daily Worker, May 12, 1936, page 4.
