Biography

J. Gonzales was a food worker arrested while supporting the strike at Linel Cafeteria, 830 Broadway, New York. The November 1, 1932 Daily Worker, page 2, says police attacked the mass picket the previous day and names Gonzales as arrested. It separately says T. Keene was beaten and taken to hospital. Its cumulative count of thirty-five arrests and four thirty-day sentences is not an individual sentence for Gonzales. Formal charge, jail admission, discharge and actual custody duration are not supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n261-NY-nov-01-1932-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
