Biography

J. Brucher was among six Zelgreen cafeteria pickets who had served disorderly-conduct terms and remained jailed awaiting Paragraph 600 proceedings. The November 8, 1930 Daily Worker reports the case dismissed after contradictory employer testimony and their actual release. The men described six to a cell without blankets, cold exposure and threats; Blanca and Modin were beaten while taken to court. Individual earlier sentence lengths and exact physical discharge day are not supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n269-NY-nov-08-1930-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
