Biography
Isabelle Chulkins was a Milwaukee worker jailed after taking part in the March 6, 1930 unemployment demonstration demanding work or wages. The March 15 Daily Worker’s photograph caption names her at upper left beside Sonia Mason, with Edward Nehmer below, and expressly states that all three were jailed by Mayor Hoan’s police. The caption supplies no statutory charge, individual sentence, physical release or complete custody duration. Her first and last names are preserved as printed in the native caption.
