Biography

I. Enray was named among May's Department Store strike pickets arrested February 22, 1936 at 510 Fulton Street, Brooklyn. The February 24 Daily Worker reports arraignment February 23 before Magistrate Mark Rudich. The four assault defendants, including Jack Small, were held on $200 bail each, which was quickly provided. They denied assault and called the charges a frame-up; Small said police had beaten him so badly he could barely walk. Trial was scheduled March 2. The scheduled hearing is not a verdict, and no complete custody duration is supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1936/v13-n047-NY-feb-24-1936-DW-Q.pdf#page=4
