Biography
Hilton Fernández Diamante was arrested on August 30, 1985 in the Wells Fargo/Macheteros prosecution and held pending trial, before conditional release in December 1986. A separate prison sentence was imposed on May 13, 1992. The federal inmate locator, matching register number 03168-069 and his full name, records that he was no longer in BOP custody as of July 22, 1994. This federal-custody endpoint does not establish the end of parole or possible custody under another authority. Exact later prison admission remains unverified.

Custody chronology remains under review: initial detention, bail release and a later prison sentence must not be represented as one uninterrupted period merely because the same prosecution continued. No custody endpoint is inferred from this photograph.
Distinct pretrial detention and later prison term
The original May 1986 appellate opinion explicitly places Hilton among the defendants arrested August 30, 1985 and detained pending trial; August 29 was incorrect. The May 1987 opinion describes December 1986 conditional release of the five remaining co-defendants other than Ojeda Ríos and Segarra Palmer. Tim Craine's contemporary June 26, 1992 report records May 13 sentencing by Judge T. F. Gilroy Daly. The later sentence is separated from pretrial detention; its admission and final discharge are not established. The prior September 9, 1999 release and continuous 1985-to-1999 total are removed: neither the conditional-release chronology nor this later sentencing report supports that uninterrupted period. No sentence-length arithmetic is used to create a final release. Rounded sixteen months prior custody is not converted into an exact day count. Verified federal-custody endpoint
Ordinary official locator search for register 03168-069 returned HILTON FERNANDEZ-DIAMANTE and 'Not in BOP Custody as of: 07/22/1994'. This supersedes the earlier note that his later endpoint was unverified. The BOP explains that a past endpoint without a facility means release from its custody, but not necessarily the end of parole, supervision, or another authority's custody.
