Biography
Henry Teal was a Black defendant in Texas sentenced to fifty years in prison in a case arising from the killing of a Civil Works Administration foreman. The International Labor Defense denounced the prosecution, reporting that deputies had threatened a witness to obtain evidence against him. The case was part of the organization’s campaign against racial violence and coerced testimony in Southern prosecutions.
