Biography

Harry Olsen was arrested at 4 p.m. Friday September 26,1930 outside the Standard Oil plant in Bayonne, New Jersey while selling Labor Unity. The September 28 dispatch says both sellers were initially held on a minor accusation and $500 bail each; on Saturday the charge became inciting to riot and bail rose to $1,000 each because of a magazine picture of an oil strike fifteen years earlier. The source establishes actual detention, but no discharge or final verdict. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n234-NY-sep-29-1930-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
