Biography

Gunner Ostberg was a Scandinavian Workers Club member arrested at his job and taken to Ellis Island, according to the February 25, 1932 Daily Worker. The Committee for the Protection of Foreign-Born was working to secure his release in its campaign against raids and arrests of foreign-born workers. Actual immigration confinement is explicit; no deportation order, completed deportation, exact admission or discharge is established. Printed Gunner is retained without speculative correction to Gunnar. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n048-NY-feb-25-1932-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
