Biography

Gerald "Jerry" Koch is a New York anarchist and grand-jury resister. He was confined at the Metropolitan Correctional Center from May 21, 2013 through January 28, 2014 for civil contempt after refusing to testify. The court ended the confinement after finding it no longer coercive. This was civil confinement, not a criminal conviction.

Judge John F. Keenan signed the ruling concerning Koch’s motion for release. The existing civil-contempt classification and custody endpoints are preserved.
