Biography
Gavin David Seim is a photographer, former congressional candidate and self-described constitutionalist known for filming confrontations with law enforcement. Douglas County deputies arrested and booked him on January 15, 2015, after he disrupted a traffic-court hearing while attempting to represent another man and livestream the proceeding. He was freed on bail the following day and later received 14 days of home detention and 12 months of probation. Ephrata police arrested him again on August 17, 2017, on harassment and obstruction allegations after he filmed and confronted an officer conducting a traffic stop. He was booked into Grant County Jail and released on a $2,000 bond. He later left for Mexico and failed to appear on December 8, 2017, prompting a bench warrant.
2010s audit verified October 12, 2026: The original Columbia Basin Herald court-record report describes the August 2017 booking at Grant County Jail and release on $2,000 bail, not federal imprisonment at FCI Allenwood. The erroneous federal institution was removed. The individual release day and 2015 sentencing day remain unresolved.
