Biography
Gary Johnson was a homeless rights activist who in 2010 slept on the steps outside Santa Cruz City Hall in protest of a recent law targeting the homeless that made it a crime to sleep outside or in a vehicle. Johnson was arrested for this and held on $50,000 bail, he was convicted and sentenced to 6 months in jail.
2010s audit verified October 12, 2026: The contemporary PeaceCamp2010 court report, whose original HTML was retained and read, reports Johnson sentenced to six months and taken to jail June 10, 2011. The unsupported West Tennessee institution was removed from this Santa Cruz case. His individual bail-release date remains unresolved; later prosecutions are not merged with this interval.
