Biography

Fusako Miyagi was a Honolulu teacher at Waialae Japanese Language School. After her husband Genyei was detained, she and their daughter Kikuno entered the US wartime confinement system to reunite the family. JCCH records her December 1942 mainland transfer aboard the Lurline, Jerome confinement January 1943-June 1944 and Rohwer confinement June 1944-August 1945. The family moved to California after the war. Her entry for reunification must not be confused with her husband’s December 1941 arrest.
