Biography

Fritz Arthur Holm was a Swedish labor activist and treasurer of the Scandinavian Defense League. US immigration authorities detained him during the First Red Scare. The One Big Union Monthly lists him among IWW detainees transported from Seattle on February 6, 1919, to Ellis Island, arriving February 11. On June 10, 1919, Federal Judge Hand denied habeas corpus petitions brought by Holm and six other men facing deportation. Contemporary IWW publications subsequently listed Holm among deported members. His initial arrest date, actual departure date and destination have not been established.
