Biography

Dutch Catholic Worker from Amsterdam. In summer 2018 he entered Büchel Air Base, Germany with 17 others to protest U.S. nuclear weapons deployment. He refused to pay the resulting court fine and served a 30-day sentence at Wittlich Prison in Germany beginning July 4, 2022.

The Onkruit Vergaat Niet newsletter of September 6, 2022 describes confinement from July 4 through and including August 2, 2022. Other first-person reporting confirms thirty days served but does not give an executed discharge date. The currently stored August 3 release day is therefore not independently confirmed by these reports; no replacement day has been inferred from sentence arithmetic. Actual release remains a point for checking against a discharge record.
