Biography

Abner Green’s October 1936 account identifies Frank Della Gatta as arrested by immigration officials without a warrant in 1935 when he went to Ellis Island to visit a detained friend. It says officials deported him to Fascist Italy within one month. The visit, arrest and actual removal are individually reported; the source does not give a precise seizure or departure day, a statutory count, or a measured complete custody interval. The unnamed friend is not assigned an invented identity. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/labordefender/1936/v12-%5B10%5Dn10-oct-1936-orig-LD.pdf#page=17
