Biography
Florence Nobuko Matsui was a Honolulu Japanese American and the daughter of Totaro and Tatsuko Sato Matsui. Her individual JCCH record documents November 1944 departure aboard Matsonia to join family members in mainland internment, confinement at Crystal City Family Internment Camp, Texas, and December 1945 return to Honolulu aboard Shawnee. Her family confinement must not be assigned her father’s December 1941 arrest date. No individual criminal conviction or exact camp admission and release days is established by the archive.
