Biography

A worker named only Ferrera was beaten and jailed after a relief demonstration with Max Schnapp at the Albemarle Road and Gravesend Avenue Home Relief Bureau. The September 20 report says he was being held on Ellis Island for deportation because of relief organizing. This establishes actual detention pending removal, not a completed deportation or an expanded first name.
