Biography

Evan O’Reilly, a community organizer from Cleveland, was arrested during the July 4, 2022 Akron protest organized by Freedom BLOC and jailed for two days.

The civil complaint says he wore a high-visibility vest to help with demonstrator safety and organization, was charged with disorderly conduct, and was released July 6. It reports the charge dismissed January 28, 2023; the months of prosecution are separate from the two-day jail stay.

The allegations are attributed to plaintiffs’ June 29, 2023 civil complaint; they are not findings that the defendants are liable. Source: Harris et al. v. City of Akron, No. 5:23-cv-01290, complaint, PDF pages 46, 47. This historical source does not establish present custody status.
