Biography
Emanuel Graff was a Miami labor and civil-rights activist married to Bobbi Graff. During Dade County’s 1954 investigation of alleged subversive activity, both were subpoenaed before the grand jury. Emanuel refused to answer questions, was adjudged in contempt, and was committed to jail. He sought release through habeas corpus in September 1954, but the reviewed record does not establish his exact commitment or release dates.
