Biography
Daniel Burgevin, a Trumansburg, New York peace activist, participated in the October 25, 2012 Hancock Field drone-war protest and was arrested, then released on recognizance that afternoon. He was later among twelve defendants sentenced February 7, 2014 to fifteen days in jail for disorderly conduct; they were acquitted of trespass. The initial arrest/release and later sentence custody are separate phases.
Separate initial release verified October 12, 2026: The Upstate Coalition's October 25, 2012 report, preserved by Veterans for Peace expressly names Dan Burgevin among four released on recognizance that afternoon after the Hancock protest arrest. Both report pages were extracted and visually checked. This initial arrest/release is now separately recorded from the existing February 2014 jail sentence. No initial jail admission or full-day duration is inferred. Contemporary sentencing coverage confirms the later 2014 proceedings, not the former biography's 2013 claim.
