Biography
Courtney Williams is a U.S. Army veteran and former Department of the Army employee who supported a special military unit at Fort Bragg and held a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance. Beginning in 2022, she communicated with journalist Seth Harp, whose reporting and 2025 book “The Fort Bragg Cartel” discussed the unit and described Williams’s allegations of sexual harassment, gender discrimination and retaliation. Federal prosecutors allege that Williams also shared classified information about the unit’s personnel, tactics and procedures. The FBI arrested her on April 7, 2026, and a grand jury indicted her the following day on four counts under the Espionage Act. She remained incarcerated through her April 13 detention hearing, when a judge ordered her released to home detention and location monitoring while the case proceeds. The conditions of release bar her from speaking with the media or using social media.
