Biography
Constance Webb was a Black Panther Party member who was six months pregnant when police arrested her during the predawn April 16, 1974 raids on party offices and members’ homes in Oakland. Officers took Webb from her bed without allowing her to change clothes. The Black Panther (April 27, 1974, pp. 3 and 16) identifies her among the fourteen people arrested and reports that all fourteen were released after thirty hours when the prosecutor cited insufficient evidence. The report supplies the duration and release outcome, without individually printing an exact discharge day.
