Connor Stevens was an activist involved in the Occupy Cleveland movement who was arrested on April 30, 2012 as part of a federal case centered on an alleged plan to damage the Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge in Ohio using explosives. Stevens was charged by the U.S. Department of Justice with conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, and malicious attempt to destroy property used in interstate commerce. Federal authorities described the arrests as a terrorism prevention operation, while supporters maintained that the case relied heavily on the actions of an undercover FBI informant, raising serious concerns about entrapment.
