Biography
Concha Cantu was secretary of the Fish Cannery Workers' Defense Committee and one of five women prosecuted during the Coast Fishing Company strike at Wilmington, California. The women were initially accused of violence on the picket line, but the charges were reduced to disturbing the peace. They received thirty-day jail sentences and were free on bail while the defense campaign continued in April 1936.
