Cody Michael Tarner

Cody Michael Tarner, 23, of Hagerstown, MD, was indicted by a federal grand jury for burning two Supreme Court Police vehicles and attempting to burn a third on July 15, 2020. Tarner poured gasoline from a can into three Supreme Court Police vehicles, igniting two; he himself was engulfed in flames and suffered severe burns before a Supreme Court Police officer rendered first aid. One vehicle was destroyed, one damaged, the third did not catch fire. He was held without bond pending trial; tried unsuccessfully to plead insanity.
