Biography
Chase J. Powers was a Mine-Mill executive board member prosecuted in the federal conspiracy case over Taft-Hartley non-Communist affidavits. A jury convicted him on December 17, 1959, but the Tenth Circuit held the evidence insufficient and directed dismissal of the indictment against him in 1962. He remained free on bail and did not serve a prison sentence.
