Biography
Charles Collins was a Grenada-born New York hotel-union organizer who led a militant rank-and-file movement in the Hotel Trades Council. The federal government later sought to revoke his citizenship, alleging that he had concealed Communist Party membership in his naturalization application. Supreme Court rulings in similar cases undercut the proceeding in 1958. The reviewed record establishes a civil denaturalization action but no arrest or confinement.
