Biography

Charles Anderson was among five workers arrested when police attacked an Unemployment Councils delegation demanding relief at the Eighteenth Precinct relief bureau, 519 West 45th Street, New York. The Daily Worker of September 8, 1934, page 5, reports that the attack and arrests occurred the previous day and that all five faced disorderly-conduct charges. Two workers were badly beaten, but the article does not identify those two individually; no injury is therefore assigned to Charles Anderson. It supplies no sentence, release or actual custody duration. The issue supplies no identity link to the existing St. Maries, Idaho, Charles Anderson imprisoned under wartime espionage/sedition laws.
