Biography
Carol Thomas was a Southern Conference Educational Fund organizer in Gainesville, Florida. A contemporary report identified her among organizers who had spent many months in jail during repeated prosecutions over the preceding year and a half, and specifically identified a charge of resisting arrest. A federal appeals panel reversed the refusal to hold a hearing on their allegations of bad-faith prosecution; that procedural ruling was not an acquittal or a release order.
