- The Washington Post, November 23, 1997 — identifies SOA Watch director Carol Richardson as 53, supporting 1944 as her birth year.
A collective March reporting date is not substituted for an earlier individual entry
The May 1998 newsletter’s twenty-person SOA roster includes Carol Richardson, register88116-020, at FPC Alderson, under a collective heading saying those listed reported to prison on March 23,1998. The existing case instead records January 21 admission, November 19,1997 sentencing and July 19,1998 release. This source does not explain the discrepancy or establish a separate transfer, second admission or break in custody. The collective heading is therefore preserved as conflicting evidence rather than silently replacing the earlier individualized dates, copying the article’s January 21 trial date into sentencing, or calculating a new duration.

Counsel’s April 27, 1998 clemency petition identifies the November 19, 1997 no-contest plea and six-month sentence with a $3,000 fine. It individually confirms prison entry on January 21, 1998. The biography describes her Methodist ministry, work for Bread for the World and Witness for Peace, and co-directorship of SOA Watch in Washington. These records concern a request for clemency; they do not establish that a pardon or commutation was granted.
