The IWW pamphlet With Drops of Blood records his death separately from that of Carl Swenson, another prisoner in the same jail. Historian Ahmed White also identifies Swanson and this date in Under the Iron Heel, placing the death in the wartime and postwar repression of IWW workers. The sources reviewed do not establish Swanson’s individual arrest date, precise charge, conviction or sentence.
